Remote Access Last Caller to FrontDoor Patch Utility
Version 1.00
By Mark G. Spivey
BBSPlus Software Utilities
Specializing in Remote Access Utilities
Released into the public domain May 5th, 1992 as FREEWARE
DISCLAIMER :
I do not guarantee that this product will work with your current
configuration. It has been tested on both single line systems and
multi line systems with no problems. I can not be held responsible for
any damage this program may do to your system wether by program fault
or operator fault.
WHAT IT DOES?
Only Tested with RA v1.11 and FD 2.02 - the most current versions
of both avaiable at this time. Future versions will only be
compatible with the most current RELEASE of RA and FD as they become
available.
This program will take every last drop of information contained in
the LASTCALL.BBS file from Remote Access and sqeeze it into the
LASTCALL.FD incomming record for FrontDoor.
What the information will look like!
From: Last Caller Node Number:BAUD/# of Calls
Hurtin Date Goof! Off: 12:00 Location
That is all this does, but is quite handy if you want to know who
the last caller was to your BBS at a glance.
CONFIGURATION: This is EASY!
Single Line Users:
Place RALCFD.EXE and RALCFD.CFG into your RA system directory and
edit the configuration file making sure that the paths are correct for
your set up. The handle option will allow you to use a handle instead
of name for the patch. The LAST TIME OFF option will allow you place
the log off time into the location string for your reference only.
Multi-Line Users:
Place a configuration file (RALCFD.CFG) into each node directory
for your BBS and one single copy of RALCFD into any directory in your
path. Configuration as above making sure you use the correct node
directory for each line.
EXECUTION: Please be sure you read this carefully.
Running from a BATCH file, change to the directory where you have
the configuration file located and execute RALCFD. This must BE DONE
BEFORE FD is loaded or RA is loaded with a shell to FD option. YOU
MUST PLACE IT BEFORE RA or FD in your batch file. There seems to be a
small bug with executing it before any enviroment variable changes
that causes the BATCH file to stop executing every once in a while.
EXAMPLE OF MULTI-NODE:
Command line in FrontDoor's batch file for node 1 is simply:
RALCFD.EXE
(Thats it!)
What's in node one's cfg file:
C:\RA\LASTCALL.BBS <--------- RA SYSTEM DIR
C:\FD\N1\LASTCALL.FD <-------- Node 1 FD PATH
Y <------- This is if ye want handles, not names
Y <------- This is if you want log off time shown
! <-------This sucker need to stay for good!
BUG REPORTS:
Please NETMAIL me via 1:3640/13 if you have any trouble with this
program. It is currently in BETA test mode with NO PROBLEMS, but you
know how that goes. If you wish to become a permanent BETA site for
any of my upcoming utilities including this one, message usage
counters, file area counters for CD-ROMS that WORK, or anything else I
create, please MAIL me via 1:3640/13.
Current versions of this program will be avaliable for download
from my BBS 1:3640/13 (1-912-882-9215) 2400 BAUD or at 1:3640/5
(1-912-882-0755) HST v32bis/14,400. Please let me know how you like
this program and if you feel it is worthy of it, you may donate money
to me!
FUTURE VERSIONS:
New versions will POSSIBLY support Binkley and other mailers and
maybe even other BBS packages, but I doubt it as I LOVE RA and FD.
Maybe if enough of you BEG me too, I will.
